Background Information on SS4A

The City of Shakopee is developing a Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Safety Action Plan focused on improving safety on all roads in the community. This action plan will guide roadway safety strategies throughout the city of Shakopee to make our streets and roads safer for everyone, whether you drive, walk, bike, roll, or take transit. The Safety Action
Plan will identify a prioritized list of safety improvement projects based on data and stakeholder input. The City will prioritize and secure funding for implementing safety projects.

What is SS4A?

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) established the SS4A program to fund transportation safety planning and projects in communities around the country. Shakopee applied and was awarded funds through this program to develop this Safety Action Plan. The SS4A program funds regional, local, and Tribal initiatives through grants. The program supports the U.S. Department of Transportation's goal towards zero roadway deaths. You can learn more about the program at this link.
