Background Information on SS4A

The City of Shakopee is developing a Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Plan focused on improving safety on City-owned roads. This action plan will guide roadway safety strategies throughout the city of Shakopee to make our streets and roads safer for everyone, whether you drive, walk, bike, roll, or take transit. The SS4A Plan will identify a prioritized list of safety improvement projects based on data and stakeholder input. The City will prioritize and secure funding for implementing safety projects.

What is SS4A?

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) established the SS4A program to distribute funds from 2022-2026. The SS4A program funds regional, local, and Tribal initiatives through grants. The program supports the U.S. Department of Transportation's goal towards zero roadway deaths. You can learn more about the program at this link.

How can I get involved?

We are gathering input from the public to help understand the community's traffic safety concerns. You can help by filling out our survey and by placing pins on the interactive map below to share a location or corridor you are concerned about. The survey and comment map will be open to the public through June 2026.
