Project Overview

Dodd Boulevard is an important transportation corridor in Lakeville, connecting neighborhoods, businesses, schools, parks, and trails. The section between 202nd St/Kenwood Trail (CSAH 50) and 208th Street is a rural section without stormwater collection systems or treatment measures. The Lake Marion Greenway Trail crosses Dodd Boulevard at-grade near Marion Fields Park. The City of Lakeville and Dakota County are partnering to study and evaluate upgrades to Dodd Boulevard that will improve traffic capacity and operations, enhance intersection safety, and provide upgrades for non-motorized transportation.

Project Goals

  • Reconstruct and modernize Dodd Boulevard (CSAH 9) between Kenwood Trail and Huntsville Trail/208th Street West
  • Improve opportunities for non-motorized recreation and transportation through added trails and accessibility enhancements
  • Study options to improve safety at the Lake Marion Greenway Trail crossing, including possible grade separation
  • Evaluate intersection improvements at Dodd Boulevard and Kenwood Trail/202nd Street
  • Collect storm water runoff and provide water quality improvements through stormwater best management practices
